What Is Xtream Codes?
Xtream Codes is a different way IPTV providers deliver channels — instead of a single playlist file, you get three pieces of information: a server URL (with a port number), a username, and a password.
How it differs from M3U
Behind the scenes, an Xtream Codes login is used to build a playlist URL automatically — typically something like server/get.php?username=…&password=…&type=m3u_plus. Apps built for Xtream Codes construct this URL for you and often add extras like electronic program guide (EPG) data and video-on-demand libraries.
Using it in a browser
- Enter your server URL, username, and password into an Xtream Codes player.
- The player builds the standard playlist URL locally, in your browser — your credentials aren't sent anywhere else.
- If the provider's server blocks browser requests (common — many panels only allow their own apps), download the generated playlist file and upload it instead.
